Refusing to take the hint from the majority of Americans and just go away, Bill and Hillary Clinton are continuing along on their self-promotional speaking tour.
But that tour apparently hasn’t been drawing much in the way of excited crowds. Once-expensive tickets to see the former first couple have seen extraordinary price cuts in recent weeks, according to a report from the New York Post.
Not a best-seller
The Post reported that some tickets for the Clintons’ latest event in Seattle were selling for as low as $20 on secondary resale websites.
Moreover, when tickets for the speaking appearance at Seattle’s WaMu Theater first went on sale at the initial announcement of the tour in November, the best seats in the house were selling for as much as $1,785.
But the ticket price for those seats had been cut by more than half by the time of the event on Friday, selling for a price of only $829.
Even then, tickets weren’t selling as organizers had hoped, so prices were slashed again — and discounts were even offered through outlets like Groupon to try and spur more ticket sales.
In the end, tickets for the event were officially sold for as little as $66.50 and as much as $519 — a far cry from the original price tag of nearly $1,800.
Of course, The Seattle Times — which offered up a predictably glowing review of the evening — failed to mention the slashed ticket prices or provide an estimate of how many people actually paid to listen to the Clintons whine about President Donald Trump and his administration.
The liberal paper did note, however, that the Clintons preached to a ” true-blue, Democratic crowd” that left the event somehow feeling inspired and refreshed.
Obsolete and outdated
If the event in Seattle was anything like prior events on the Clintons’ absurd and unnecessary self-promotional speaking tour, then the formerly powerful political couple likely spoke to a less-than-packed house of only their most die-hard supporters, many of whom aren’t exactly in complete touch with reality.
In truth, few Americans truly care what Bill or Hillary Clinton think any longer, as both of those career politicians are long past their days in the sun — whether they realize it or not.
Were the Clintons not so wrapped up in themselves, they perhaps could see past their over-inflated self-worth and unmitigated sense of entitlement.
Their horrific ticket sales should serve as a big hint that it is beyond time for them to just pack it up.
