This is just sad. During her debut appearance as a Fox News contributor, Sanders revealed that almost all of the negative comments she receives while out and about come from women.
“What I find interesting is 99 percent of the people who come over to say something negative, and to attack you, are women,” Sanders said on “Fox & Friends” Friday morning. “I find that very startling from a group of people that claim to be the champions of women empowerment.”
Sanders also pointed out that she was the first mother to be White House Press Secretary. “Yet women attack me relentlessly, instead of being proud that we have more women doing those types of jobs,” she said.

“Once in a while”
Sanders said that “every once in a while” someone will come up to her in public and say something nasty, though she hasn’t been asked to leave any restaurants since the incident at the Red Hen Restaurant in Virginia last year where she was very publicly ejected.
She added that she knows that people want to provoke some kind of reaction, but she refuses to give them what they want because she does not want to “engage in a fight.”
Sanders left her position as press secretary in June, saying it was time to go back to Arkansas, her home state, and spend more time with her family. She has three young children with her husband Bryan Chatfield Sanders, a political consultant.
Sanders took over the press secretary job from Sean Spicer in July 2017 and spent two years in President Donald Trump’s administration. She was both lauded and criticized for her tart replies to snarky press questions.
Sanders looks forward
Some have speculated that Sanders may run for governor of Arkansas in 2022. Her father, Mike Huckabee, was governor of the state from 1996 to 2007.
She said she will continue to support the president for “six more years.” About the 2020 Democrat presidential candidates, she said, “The things that are coming out of Democrats’ mouths these days, I can’t even process it they’re so stupid.”
Sanders also announced that she would be writing a book about her experiences in the Trump administration, including how she balanced family and work. She also plans to share about some of her most challenging times, like the Red Hen incident and the way she was mocked at a White House correspondents’ dinner.
The book, set to release in the fall of 2020, will reveal details that she had not previously disclosed to the public, Sanders said.
