Rod Rosenstein the dupe

Make sure to let us know what you think... we now have comments turned ON below the article!

Former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein chose to appear to be a dupe, deceived by James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, and others in a Senate Judiciary Committee’s review of the FBI Russia investigation .

The Senate has finally started investigating the origin of the Russia collusion investigation or investigating the investigators. Finally, because even though the Republicans have controlled the Senate since President Trump took office, they are just now getting around to this matter which has truly disturbed the peace of our republic for years.

The House Permanent Select Committee of Intelligence or HPSCI, before the Democrats took over, under the leadership of Deven Nunes (R-CA) did this back in 2017 and produced The Nunes Memo in early 2018 which, by and large, was correct, though excoriated by the Democrats and the mainstream media.

January 4, 2017: FBI investigation found no evidence on Flynn

New evidence of the origins of the Russia investigation has recently been uncovered by General Michael Flynn and his attorneys in the quest to have charges dropped against him from the “Russia collusion” investigation, also known as Crossfire Hurricane.

The new documents reveal that the FBI was ready to drop the investigation of General Flynn on January 4, 2017,  having found no evidence of collusion. Documents also reveal that FBI agent Peter Strzok asked that the investigation be kept open.

Plotting Flynn’s downfall on January 5, 2017

On January 5, 2017, the next day, James Comey, Susan Rice, President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates met together to plan the downfall of General Flynn. Susan Rice, Obama’s National Security Adviser, memorialized the meeting in an email two weeks later, repeating three times that the investigation would be done by the book.

By the Book

How could an investigation be done “by the book” when there was no evidence that Flynn should be investigated at all? No legitimate predicate remained to keep the investigation open. That is not by the book.

James Comey did not conduct the subsequent investigation by the book, either. He sent agents into the White House on January 24th, without following any protocol, and he bragged about it on national television after he was fired by President Trump.

Rosenstein the dupe

After Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the Russia investigation, Rosenstein took over. Rosenstein signed the FISA warrant requests made by the FBI, trusting that they had legitimate sources to request the warrants. He acknowledged during the hearing that he did not thoroughly investigate the predicating material, which Inspector General Michael Horowitz reported was the Steele Dossier, a document that he said was a product of Russian disinformation. Rosenstein either knew, or he was a gullible dupe.

Russian disinformation used by DNC and FBI to undermine Trump

Hillary Clinton’s campaign paid for the Christopher Steele and Fusion GPS to gather dirt on her opponent, Donald Trump. Steele, a frequent companion of Russian oligarchs, compiled unverified rumors and allegations into a dossier which the FBI then used to request the right to spy on Clinton’s political rival’s campaign. The Democrats are the real party of Putin, doing his bidding and causing years of political strife for the whole world to see.

Regarding this matter, Senator John Cornyn stated that:

THE INSPECTOR GENERAL REPORT, WHICH POINTS OUT…THAT NOT ONLY DID STEELE HAVE REGULAR INTERACTION WITH RUSSIAN OLIGARCHS, BUT THERE WAS A POTENTIAL FOR RUSSIAN DISINFORMATION INFLUENCING STEELE’S ELECTION REPORTING. IT DID NOT HAVE HIGH CONFIDENCE THAT THE SUBSOURCES FOR STEELE’S REPORTING AND ASSESSED THE REFERENCE SUBSET WAS PART OF A RUSSIAN DISINFORMATION CAMPAIGN TO  DENIGRATE U.S. FORIGN RELATIONS. MR. ROSENSTEIN, IT STRIKES ME THAT MR. PUTIN MUST BE EXTRAORDINARILY PLEASED WITH HOW THIS ALL PLAYED ITSELF OUT. NOT ONLY WAS HILLARY CLINTON AND HER CAMPAIGN DISPARAGED, NOT ONLY WAS PRESIDENT TRUMP AND HIS CAMPAIGN DISPARAGED, AND PU

Rosenstein, the man in charge, the person who appointed his old boss, Robert Mueller, as special prosecutor in the Russia Collusion matter, still didn’t do his homework investigating the origin of the investigation, saying he trusted the FBI, or as Deputy Attorney General he couldn’t know all the details of an investigation, etc. His responses to GOP senator’s questions sounded suspiciously like James Comey’s answers in another hearing on a similar matter.

The question naturally arises, why not? As the most important men in their departments, the DOJ, and the FBI, aren’t these men paid the big bucks to know everything. They are like private-sector CEOs. The buck stops here guys. Why didn’t they find out? The investigation, unprecedented in US history, should have enjoyed their full attention as it impacted the highest office in the land. They did know everything, but they are crying ignorance to avoid answering hard questions under oath and on the record.

Democrat Senators say the hearings are unnecessary

Of course, Senators Klobuchar, Durbin, Coon, Feinstein, Blumenthal and others claimed that the Senate did not need to hold hearings about something that was already settled by the Mueller Report and the subsequent indictments and prosecutions. They ignored the newly discovered evidence in the Flynn case, and the only thing from the Horowitz report that they seemed to remember was the fact that Horowitz said there was no “documentary” evidence of bias in the investigation.

They also said that the COVID-19 virus and the George Floyd protests and riots should be prioritized in the Senate. Senator Cornyn pointed out the irony of the Democrats saying they had so much more to do, when just a few weeks ago, they were arguing that they shouldn’t even reconvene.

Watch Chairman Lindsey Graham question Rosenstein:

Senator Cruz opened his questioning by pointing out that the Russia Collusion investigation made Watergate pale in comparison. He also unleashed the question:

Why did you let this pile of partisan lies consume the country for two years?” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) asked, at one point hitting the dais. “All of this was allowed to go forward under your leadership. … Either you were complicit in the wrongdoing, which I don’t believe was the case, or the performance of your duties was grossly negligent.”

For any political junkies that have the time to watch the entire hearing, go here.

What do you think? Is it corrupt for an outgoing president to use federal law enforcement to take down or hobble a political rival and incoming president? Should the Senate spend time trying to discover what actually happened?
