Red alert: Coronavirus in the White House

Make sure to let us know what you think... we now have comments turned ON below the article!

While President Trump is fighting to beat back the coronavirus and help the country come back from devastating lockdowns, the coronavirus is getting closer to him. Three top officials on the White House Coronavirus Task Force are self-isolating after being exposed to a COVID-19 positive person. FDA chief, Stephen Hahn, came into contact with Katie Miller, a White House spokesperson who works for Vice-President Pence, who tested positive for the virus on Friday.

CDC chief Robert Redfield is self-isolating for the next two weeks and the star of the White House Coronavirus Task Force and head of the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci will also be in self-imposed quarantine. Redfield, Fauci, and Hahn, all members of the task force will continue their work remotely.

Secret Service and personal valet

Others close to President Trump have tested positive for the virus, including a personal valet. Eleven Secret Service members are also positive for the virus. In an effort to be more vigilant, instead of being tested weekly for the virus, the president, the vice president, and close aides will be tested daily.

The president commented on the situation saying:

I’m not worried. But you know, look, I get things done. I don’t worry about things. I do what I have to do. We’ve taken very strong precautions at the White House. But again, we’re dealing with an invisible situation. Nobody knows. All you can do is take precaution and do it the best you can.

The president’s critics

And that is what President Trump has been doing all along, leading. He stayed in Washington D.C., taking risks to help this country fight the “invisible enemy,” while Speaker of the House, third in line to the presidency, Nancy Pelosi cowers in her kitchen with her chocolate ice cream.

The president’s critics are saying that he was too cavalier about the virus and so, of course, the virus is in the White House. They say he is trying to open the economy too fast, which will cause the virus to spread. The criticisms come as no surprise as the president’s critics will always find fault, no matter what the president does.

The president’s method of dealing with the danger of the coronavirus is a good example for all. Take precautions, get things done, fear not.
