Jeanine Pirro lets slip that Fox News ‘suspended,’ may want to ‘fire’ her

There has been a concerted effort by some on the left to raise a stink over anything even remotely controversial said by certain Fox News personalities — such as Judge Jeanine Pirro — with an explicit intent to see those conservative voices permanently silenced via targeted advertiser boycotts and pressure campaigns.

That very nearly happened in March when Pirro mysteriously disappeared from Fox News for a few weeks following her pointed remarks about Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, and now Pirro has confirmed — perhaps unwittingly via a hot mic moment — that she had indeed been suspended by the network and could be in danger of getting fired if she crosses a line again.

“They suspended me”

On Tuesday Pirro called in for an interview on former White House adviser Sebastian Gorka’s Salem Radio Network program, which is also streamed in its entirety on YouTube, even during the required commercial breaks for the radio broadcast.

“Hey Jeanine, we’re still live, the mics are live on YouTube,” Gorka said as the show went to a commercial break, and he asked if she planned to do any more promotional events for her new book in Washington, D.C. Pirro replied that she was unsure about that, as the Fox network dictated her daily schedule.

Gorka made it clear that he’d like to have her do his show again in-studio, to which Pirro replied, “Oh good. I love it. I would love it. We’ll see if they let me. You know Fox reviews everything. They’re unbelievable.”

“Yeah but you have got a window because you’ve got a new book. You should have a carve-out, right?” Gorka asked, implying that there should be exceptions to typical scheduling rules given the need for Pirro to promote her book.

That didn’t seem to be the case, however, as Pirro said, “No. They’re still saying ‘you cannot do Bill O’Reilly, you cannot do Newsmax, you cannot do — oh no.'”

While Gorka noted what a “shame” that was, Pirro added, “You know what, they suspended me — and I’m not going to get fired — but you know I’m worried that that suspension was the basis to tee up for anything I do wrong, they’ll fire me.”

Pirro concerned

Pirro was suspended in March after she questioned Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) patriotism due to the fact that she insisted on wearing a hijab, and wondered aloud if there were other aspects of Islamic Sharia law to which Omar would adhere that were antithetical to the freedoms embodied by the American way of life.

The Hill reported that, at the time, Fox issued a statement condemning Pirro’s commentary but explained away her two-week absence from the network as nothing more than conflicting “scheduling matters.” Pirro’s “hot mic” remarks to Gorka would apparently be the first confirmation that the popular weekend host had indeed been suspended from the airwaves.

It would further appear that Pirro has come to realize that the suspension could very well come back into play if she were to find herself the center of controversy once again — whether or not contrived by liberal activists — and serve as the justification for a network decision to terminate her employment and cancel her highly-rated Saturday evening program.

Hopefully, that isn’t truly the case, as Fox firing Pirro and ending her show would cause a significant backlash among her legions of viewers. That said, her remarks to Gorka probably won’t sit well with Fox executives, and it remains to be seen if her time at the network will continue as before or come to an abrupt conclusion in the near future.

Whenever I look at your web site in Safari, it looks fine however, when opening in Internet Explorer, it’s got some overlapping issues. I simply wanted to give you a quick heads up! Apart from that, great blog!

  2. I’m amazed, I have to admit. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s equally educative and entertaining, and without a doubt, you have hit the nail on the head. The issue is something not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I’m very happy I stumbled across this in my hunt for something relating to this.
