Mike Pence brutally mocked over his Christian faith – again

Make sure to let us know what you think... we now have comments turned ON below the article!

In the minds of liberals and progressives, it is never OK to mock someone’s religious views… unless of course, they’re a Christian.

And if the person expressing their Christian faith is a member of the Donald Trump administration, like Vice President Mike Pence, that sentiment is especially true — in fact, some liberals seem to think slandering Pence on his Christianity is the right thing to do.

That appeared to be the message put forward recently by liberal radio host Bill Press, who suggested in a clip released on Thursday that The View co-host Joy Behar was correct and justified in mocking Pence over his Christian faith several months ago, according to Breitbart.

“She’s right”

Press was deconstructing line-by-line remarks made by White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders about the liberal media’s double standards when he made his comments defending Behar, who insinuated in February that people who believe Jesus talks to them are “mentally ill.”

“Joy Behar apologized on the air. She said that about Mike Pence,” Press said on the air. “By the way, Mike Pence’s Christianity… she’s right.”

“Mental illness”

Behar sparked uproar among conservatives in February when she insinuated that Pence’s Christianity could be categorized as a “mental illness.”

“It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices,” Behar said on Feb. 13.

She went on to mock Pence’s general rule to never be alone with another woman who wasn’t his wife: “My question is, can he talk to Mary Magdalene when his wife isn’t in the room?”

An insult to all Christians

Those remarks against Pence were taken as a broader insult against the millions who share his Christian faith, and were quite obviously an example of religious intolerance against Christianity that is somehow deemed acceptable on the left.

Behar did eventually apologize for the remarks, after tens of thousands of complaints were filed against ABC, but  many at the time viewed Behar’s apology as half-hearted and insincere.

Additionally, Press’ defense of the remarks proves that the left never saw anything wrong with them in the first place.

There is indeed a double standard on the left when it comes to mocking Christianity and people on the right — and if it weren’t for that double standard, the left would have no standards at all.
