Report: Nancy Pelosi leads delegation to Guatemala, meets with Soros-linked activists

Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently concluded a visit to Guatemala with a congressional delegation of fellow Democrats, ostensibly to discuss economic stability in the region and ways to reduce the flow of migrants north toward the United States with a number of business leaders, civic leaders, judicial leaders, humanitarian aid leaders, and government officials.

However, questions have been raised about some of the people with whom Pelosi and her delegation met, as several have been linked, either personally or through their respective organizations, with decidedly anti-American billionaire George Soros.

Congressional delegation

In a news release from Pelosi’s office, the veteran Democrat discussed the purpose of the trip and highlighted some of the groups and individuals with whom her delegation met.

That tally included ambassadors, judges and groups purportedly fighting corruption, as well as “dialogues with civil society leaders and representatives from international NGOs,” not mention a “roundtable with business leaders” to figure out how to economically improve the impoverished Central American nation.

Pelosi noted in a tweet, “It was a pleasure to meet with Guatemalan humanitarian, civil society and business leaders yesterday to discuss our common desire to create economic opportunity and security for the people of Guatemala.”

Soros-linked activists, politicians

But Breitbart reported that some of the civic leaders, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and government officials with whom Pelosi and her delegation chose to engage were actually far-left activists and socialist politicians, some of whom have received grant funding from Soros and his purportedly philanthropic organizations.

One Soros-linked individual who had an audience with Pelosi’s delegation was open borders advocate Helen Mack, who is tied to several left-leaning NGOs and is head of the Myrna Mack Foundation, which has accepted funding from Soros.

Breitbart also noted that Pelosi met with two leftist activists, Eduardo Stein and Raquel Zelaya — as well as a leftist judge named Jazmín Barrios — who have all reportedly received funding from Soros’ Open Society Foundation.

Election meddling?

In addition to the meetings with Soros-linked individuals and groups, it was also noted that the delegation’s visit came just days ahead of an important election in Guatemala, leading some to accuse the Democrats of attempting to — dare we say — collude and interfere in a sovereign nation’s elections.

The timing of Pelosi’s visit ahead of the elections is dubious given the fact that she and her fellow Democrats have staunchly resisted all efforts by President Donald Trump to reduce the flow of illegal immigration into the U.S. from Central American nations including Guatemala.

It should go without saying that Pelosi’s stance against those efforts — including her opposition to declaring Guatemala a safe third country for asylum seekers — is likewise shared by leftists seeking power in the country’s elections.

There is little doubt that Speaker Pelosi and her Democrat minions want open borders and virtually no enforcement of existing mmigration laws in the U.S., and their meeting with like-minded individuals and organizations in Guatemala, ahead of an important election no less, only crystalizes that realization.
