Modern-day witches plan event to cast ‘ritual hex’ on newly confirmed Justice Brett Kavanaugh

After a contentious and highly followed series of confirmation hearings for Brett Kavanaugh, the former D.C. Circuit Court judge joined the bench of the Supreme Court earlier this month — but the left hasn’t stopped their efforts to bring him down.

It appears that a group of modern-day witches is set to hold an event on Saturday where they plan to cast a “ritual hex” on Kavanaugh, as well as all “rapists” and the “patriarchy” that “emboldens, rewards and protects them.”

Ritual hex

According to a Facebook post advertising it, the event is scheduled to be held at “Catland,” an occult bookstore in Brooklyn, New York that describes itself as the borough’s premier “metaphysical boutique and event space.”

More than 1,300 people have marked that they plan to attend Saturday’s event, while another 13,000 have expressed interest in the event.

The description for the event explained that it would be “a public hex on Brett Kavanaugh, upon all rapists and the patriarchy at large which emboldens, rewards and protects them.”

The description added: “We are embracing witchcraft’s true roots as the magik of the poor, the downtrodden and disenfranchised and it’s history as often the only weapon, the only means of exacting justice available to those of us who have been wronged by men just like him.”

Tool against the powerful

The organizer of the event, a self-described Brooklyn-based witch named Dakota Bracciale, told Huffington Post that hexes are a powerful tool with a long history of use against the powers that be by the “oppressed, downtrodden and marginalized.”

“Witchcraft has been used throughout history as a tool and ally for people on the fringes of society who will not ever really get justice through the powers that be. So they have to exact their own justice,” Bracciale said.

Bracciale went on to explain the difference between a “binding spell” — which is meant to block or limit a person’s actions — and a ritual hex, which is more of a direct attack on an individual akin to a “supernatural fistfight.”

The event will be streamed live online and instructions will be distributed to those who can’t attend, so they can replicate the ritual hex at home. Half of the proceeds raised will be donated to Planned Parenthood and a New York City homeless shelter for LGBTQ youth.

“Even if you don’t believe in the magic of it, you’re given the space and the affirmation, having your voice heard, feeling a sense of fellowship and camaraderie,” Bracciale said of those who may be interested but weren’t really into the occult and witchcraft. “We’re putting out the message that you’re not alone, we’re not leaving you alone with the monsters.”

A group of witches has attempted to cast binding spells on President Donald Trump in the past in hopes of preventing him from fulfilling his campaign promises — but those binding spells must have failed, because Trump just keeps on winning.

It remains to be seen what will happen after these witches cast a ritual hex on Justice Kavanaugh, but if these hexes are anything like the binding spells against Trump, Kavanaugh has absolutely nothing to worry about.
