Brett Kavanaugh denies second allegation against him: This ‘did not happen’

Another woman has come forward with allegations that Brett Kavanaugh sexually harassed her — this time, when they were in law school together at Yale. But the Supreme Court nominee isn’t having it.

After The New Yorker published a story alleging that Kavanaugh exposed himself to a woman named Deborah Ramirez 35 years ago at a college party, Kavanaugh said outright that the “alleged event…did not happen.”

“The people who knew me then know that this did not happen, and have said so,” Kavanaugh added.

“Plain and simple”

Kavanaugh went on to say that the allegations from Ramirez are “a smear, plain and simple.”

“I look forward to testifying on Thursday about the truth, and defending my good name — and the reputation for character and integrity I have spent a lifetime building — against these last-minute allegations,” Kavanaugh said.

Kavanaugh is expected to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday regarding allegations from California professor Christine Blasey Ford, who says Kavanaugh attempted to rape her 36 years ago at a high school party.

“Not what I wanted”

It is unclear if Thursday’s hearing will include questions about Ramirez’s allegations, which include that Kavanaugh laughed while exposing himself to her.

“I remember a penis being in front of my face,” Ramirez told the New Yorker. “I knew that’s not what I wanted, even in that state of mind.”

Ramirez went on to say that she remembers Kavanaugh’s “face, and his hips coming forward, like when you pull up your pants.”

“Somebody yelled down the hall, ‘Brett Kavanaugh just put his penis in Debbie’s face,’” Ramirez told the New Yorker. “It was his full name. I don’t think it was just ‘Brett.’ And I remember hearing and being mortified that this was out there.”

White House stands with Brett

The White House has stood by Kavanaugh despite allegations against the nominee. Spokesperson Kerri Kupec called the claim “uncorroborated” and echoed Kavanaugh’s assertion that the allegations are meant to “smear” him ahead of his confirmation.

“This 35-year-old, uncorroborated claim is the latest in a coordinated smear campaign by the Democrats designed to tear down a good man,” Kupec said. “This claim is denied by all who were said to be present and is wholly inconsistent with what many women and men who knew Judge Kavanaugh at the time in college say. The White House stands firmly behind Judge Kavanaugh.”
