Kavanaugh accuser’s lawyer reveals ‘what motivated’ Christine Blasey Ford: Report

Make sure to let us know what you think... we now have comments turned ON below the article!

When California professor Christine Blasey Ford came forward in 2018 with allegations of sexual misconduct against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Ford and her supporters insisted that she was simply adhering to her “civic responsibility” and that partisan politics played no role in her decision to make the accusations public.

But now, the Daily Caller has revealed that Ford’s own attorney admitted earlier this year that politics were at least partly behind her client’s decision to come forward against Kavanaugh; believing that Kavanaugh would fight to overturn Roe v. Wade, Ford apparently wanted to put an “asterisk” next to the justice’s name in the history books.

Ford’s attorney spills the beans

It was Ford’s attorney, Debra Katz, who admitted that Ford’s strong support for abortion rights — and opposition to Kavanaugh’s stance against abortion — at least partly compelled the professor to publicly accuse President Donald Trump’s SCOTUS nominee of sexually assaulting her at a party decades ago.

That revelation from Katz came during a speech at the 11th Feminist Legal Theory Conference at the University of Baltimore in April, video of which has since been obtained by the Daily Caller.

“In the aftermath of these hearings, I believe that Christine’s testimony brought about more good than the harm misogynist Republicans caused by allowing Kavanaugh on the court,” Katz told the gathering of feminist attorneys.

She went on to lament that Trump was always going to pick a “conservative” before noting: “Elections have consequences, but he will always have an asterisk next to his name.”

Indeed, Katz said of Kavanaugh, “when he takes a scalpel to Roe v. Wade, we will know who he is, we know his character, and we know what motivates him, and that is important; it is important that we know, and that is part of what motivated Christine.”

It was always about abortion

Even before Ford came forward with her accusations against Kavanaugh, the left had already begun to howl about their fears that Kavanaugh would somehow single-handedly bring about the demise of Roe v. Wade and ban all abortions nationwide.

It was only natural, then, for supporters of Kavanaugh to assume — correctly, as it turns out — that Ford had ulterior motivations above and beyond a mere “civic responsibility.”

But any and all who questioned Ford’s motivations were decried, shunned, and silenced as supposed misogynists, while Ford herself was portrayed as an entirely apolitical citizen with no motivations other than speaking truth to power.

We now know that the initial suspicions were at least partly accurate. The Democrats were willing to smear an innocent man — all to get their way.
