Hurry up and wait: Pelosi keeps her precious articles

Make sure to let us know what you think... we now have comments turned ON below the article!

After an acrimonious House impeachment inquiry, the House Democrats voted to impeach President Donald Trump. But now, with impeachment going to Mitch McConnell’s Senate, they’re having second thoughts.

Of course, they made the whole inquiry highly partisan and excluded the House Republicans from calling witnesses or even being able to see transcripts from the early secret hearings until they were released to the general public. The Republicans had very little time to prepare questions and research for the public hearings, and when the Republicans objected to the “facts” that the Democrats “established” to impeach the president, they were ignored. We know this because whenever Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, or Jerry Nadler, or Adam Schiff speak about the “facts” they insist that they are “undisputed.”

Anyone who watched the hearings knows there was plenty of disputing going on, but the Democrats have the majority, so according to them, the “facts” are “undisputed.”

No Republican voted to impeach the president. The articles of impeachment don’t even include a crime, no bribery, no extortion, no crime.

This impeachment is unfair to the president and highly partisan. But worst of all, this partisan impeachment sets a bad precedent that could be used against any president that is trying to do his or her job.

Trump is doing his job

President Trump is being impeached because he was trying to get to the bottom of the Ukrainian election interference in the 2016 election, which it is his duty as president to do. It was perfectly legal for him to ask for the assistance of President Zelensky as the United States and Ukraine have enjoyed a mutual law enforcement treaty for 20 years that was signed by President Clinton.

Democrats doing what they do best

The Democrats twisted the President’s request to Zelensky on July 25th, and accused the president of asking Zelensky to dig up dirt on his political opponent.

It is not the president’s fault that Joe Biden has the audacity to run for president in 2020.

Joe Biden should be investigated for forcing Ukraine to fire the prosecutor that was investigating the natural gas company Burisma on whose board his son, Hunter Biden, sat.

Running for the Democratic nomination should not shield him from investigation.

Bad Precedent

The Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has openly said he will be working with the president’s lawyers to conduct the Senate impeachment trial, and he believes this impeachment is invalid because the Democrats failed to include any crimes in the two articles of impeachment.

Special Oath for Impeachment Trial

Chuck Schumer and other Democrats are crying foul. They are saying McConnell could not uphold his oath to be an impartial juror if he works with the President to set up the trial. The oath is prescribed in the Senate Impeachment Rules dated March 2, 1868.

Form of oath to be administered to the members of the Senate sitting in the trial of
impeachments:
I solemnly swear (or affirm, as the case may be,) that in all things appertaining to the trial
of the impeachment of _________, now pending, I will do impartial justice according to the
Constitution and laws: so help me God.

Pelosi is holding the Articles of Impeachment

After the entire nation was hustled through hasty hearings in the house, Pelosi failed to send her two precious articles of impeachment to the Senate.

Many lavish praise on Pelosi for her political acumen, but this delay seems risky. It directly contradicts the Democrat’s justification for hurrying through the impeachment process in the House.

According to them, Donald Trump is an existential threat to our Democracy, and he must be stopped from corrupting the 2020 election! So why the sudden delay? The contradiction shows that the impeachment is a partisan act by the party that lost to Donald Trump.

The reality is that the delay doesn’t hurt the Senate at all. They can continue to conduct their business and there will be no trial until the articles of impeachment are sent to the Senate.

McConnell responds to the criticism from the Democrats below.
