Hillary Clinton would like to be in charge of Facebook

As if her political career and two failed presidential runs hadn’t made it obvious enough, Hillary Clinton has always wanted to be in a position of authority and power over the vast majority of Americans.

That desire was just made crystal clear when the failed candidate revealed that she wishes she could be the chief executive of the Facebook social media platform.

According to the Los Angeles Times, that revelation came during an event on Friday when Clinton was receiving an award from Harvard University.

That event was moderated by Maura Healey, the Democrat attorney general of Massachusetts, who engaged Clinton in a half-hour conversation on a number of various topics.

Clinton was asked hypothetically — since she had failed to become president of the United States — what her dream job in the private sector might be.

Without hesitation Clinton replied, “Facebook,” which prompted laughter from Healey and the audience. She explained that she wanted to be in charge of that particular social media powerhouse due to the incredible influence it has on the flow of information here in America and around the globe.

“It’s the biggest news platform in the world,” stated Clinton. Flattering her elitist audience, she went on, “We can listen to really brilliant experienced writers like (Washington Post columnist) David Ignatius and try to keep up with the news, but most people in our country get their news, true or not, from Facebook.”

You may recall that Facebook bore a significant portion of the blame Clinton cast on everyone but herself following her 2016 electoral loss to Donald Trump, in part because of the “fake news” (from conservative media outlets) and Russian-financed propaganda ads found in some user’s news feeds.

Facebook has also come under fire separately for playing fast and loose with privacy protections for users, which has allowed personal and private information to be gathered up by Facebook and spread among third-parties for a fee, often without the knowledge of the users.

Clinton said that issue was merely an “unexpected consequences of their business model,” implying she really had no problem with the liberal tech giant holding and sharing all of that information about billions of people around the world.

“And I for one hope that they get it right, because it really is critical to our democracy that people get accurate information on which to make decisions,” she added.

Considering Clinton’s incredible bias in favor of the progressive left and against conservatives, it is simply frightening to think what would become of that social media platform if she were to be in charge and hold power over the personal and private information of millions of Americans.
