A young and rising star in the conservative movement who has become incredibly popular in recent years just received word that he will be granted a major platform to share his viewpoint and wisdom in the run-up to the midterm elections.
That rising star is conservative commentator Ben Shapiro and the major platform is the Fox News Channel, which just announced that Shapiro will star in a special midterm elections-focused series on Sundays.
“The Ben Shapiro Election Special” will air on Sunday evenings at 8:00 p.m. eastern time beginning on Sept. 23, and is scheduled to run for the remaining four weeks prior to the midterm elections in November.
Shapiro — who founded conservative media outlet The Daily Wire, hosts a top-rated podcast and speaks to young and old conservatives across the country — has long been a routine and welcomed guest on Fox News, but this program will the first official affiliation between him and the network.
Focused on the midterms
“Ben is a rising star in conservative political commentary and we are excited to add his signature style and well thought out viewpoint to our pre-election weekend lineup,” said John Finley, the network’s senior vice president of development and production.
The four-episode series will largely be focused on the various critical elections in swing states and crucial districts as Republicans attempt to defend their majorities in both chambers of Congress. The determined Democrat Party is intent on reclaiming power through a much-heralded “blue wave” of voters in November.
It would not be a surprise, though, if Shapiro also spent some time discussing some of the big news items of the week alongside his unique perspective on the electoral processes that will play out across the nation.
Facts are more important than feelings
Shapiro told The Wrap that he was very much looking forward to starting his new program on Fox News, and even referenced his tagline of “facts over feelings” that is increasingly gaining traction among young conservatives tired of being pushed around politically by liberals.
“This election is critical for the country, and it will be hotly-debated and contested from every angle,” Shapiro said in an emailed statement.
“I’m incredibly excited to bring facts, not feelings to the airwaves, and I’m excited that Fox News is partnering with us to do that!” he added.

Shapiro’s special series is only slated for four episodes during the run-up to the midterm elections.
However, if the program does well with audiences and brings in decent ratings for the network, it is not at all inconceivable that Shapiro could ultimately find himself hosting a regular weekend series for Fox News.
