Kellyanne Conway: Trump wants full investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s death

Make sure to let us know what you think... we now have comments turned ON below the article!

Almost immediately after it was reported on Saturday that convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein had committed suicide in his New York City jail cell while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, a variety of conspiracy theories arose from across the political spectrum.

Despite wild speculation from the left about what really happened to Epstein, outrage nevertheless ensued when President Donald Trump retweeted a conspiracy hypothesis originating on the right that linked Epstein’s death to former President Bill Clinton. When asked about the controversial retweet, however, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said it was merely proof that “the president just wants everything to be investigated” when it comes to Epstein.

Trump wants comprehensive probe

Conway’s remarks came during an appearance on Fox News Sunday with guest host Bill Hemmer, who wasted little time before asking about Trump’s retweet of a post linking Epstein’s death to the Clintons.

In response to “why” President Trump retweeted that post, Conway replied, “I think the president just wants everything to be investigated.”

“As your reporter revealed, just the day before there was some unsealed information implicating some people very high up, and I’m not going to repeat their names, you already did that, and I’m not saying anything beyond that, and I won’t.”

“But I will say, Bill, that there’s always this rush to say, ‘We need transparency, we need accountability,’ when it involves fictional accusations like collusion with Russia to swing an election,” Conway said. “This seems to be very concrete in that Jeffrey Epstein has done some very bad things over a number of years, and so let’s continue to investigate that.”

Investigations to continue

Conway noted that the investigation into Epstein’s wrongdoings wouldn’t cease just because of his death and suggested that potential co-conspirators or complicit witnesses should still be concerned that their role in Epstein’s alleged crimes could come to light.

Hemmer pressed Conway once more about exactly what Trump intended to convey with the retweet, but Conway simply reiterated that President Trump wanted everything fully investigated.

“Trying to connect the president to this monster from years ago, where they’re seen dancing in a video, versus other people who were actively, I suppose, flying around with this monster on his island, which was known as pedophilia island, perhaps there’s a public interest in knowing more about that,” she said.

“But again, this is all speculative, and it’s not for me to go further than where the DOJ and FBI are right now,” Conway added. “But you do hear different people asking questions, and they want to know who else was involved in Epstein’s crime, or even just, um, activities, and I guess that that will be revealed in time.”

Skepticism abounds

Americans of all political persuasions are rightly skeptical of how such a high-profile defendant — who may very well have been a key witness against other, arguably even more prominent individuals — would have been able commit suicide in a high-security prison while ostensibly being closely monitored, potentially even on a 24/7 suicide watch, following what was reported as a prior attempt to take his own life inside the same facility.

As noted, there are all sorts of theories about what really happened to Epstein, and the president — like all other Americans — has some questions and is demanding answers to either confirm or debunk his own suspicions. Alas, now we must simply wait while the investigations into the incident — as well as Epstein’s past alleged crimes — work their way to completion.
