John Ratcliffe is the new Director of National Intelligence

Make sure to let us know what you think... we now have comments turned ON below the article!

The Senate, in spite of complete resistance by the Senate Democrats, confirmed the appointment of Texas congressman John Ratcliffe as the Director of National Intelligence. The news is good for America and President Trump.

The news is bad for “the swamp” in Washington D.C. Finally, President Trump will have someone in charge that isn’t trying to sabotage his administration or protect their own agency.

Congressional warrior and defender of the president

Ratcliffe is an attorney, a former federal prosecutor, and currently a congressman from Texas district 4 since 2015. He was asked in July 2019 to be DNI, but withdrew from consideration after he was accused of “exaggerating his credentials.” President Trump then formally asked him to be DNI in February 2020.

In the fall of 2019, Ratcliffe distinguished himself as a relentless prosecutor in the House impeachment inquiry, getting Democrat “witnesses” to admit they had no first-hand knowledge of President Trump doing anything illegal in regards to Ukraine, military aid to Ukraine, or investigations into Joe Biden and corrupt relations with Ukraine. Ratcliffe has a knack of asking questions that reveal the most important information.

The job

According to the Director of National security website, or dni.gov:

The Director of National Intelligence serves as the head of the U.S. Intelligence Community, overseeing and directing the implementation of the National Intelligence Program and acting as the principal advisor to the President, the National Security Council, and the Homeland Security Council for intelligence matters related to national security. The President appoints the DNI with the advice and consent of the Senate.

The DNI works closely with a President-appointed, Senate-confirmed Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence to effectively integrate all national and homeland security intelligence in defense of the homeland and in support of U.S. national security interests.

Ratcliffe will be overseeing intelligence agencies which include the FBI, CIA, and NSA. The Coast Guard, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines intelligence departments are included as well.

Currently, Richard Grenell is serving temporarily as DNI. Grenell has stirred quite a hornet’s nest by declassifying documents revealing Joe Biden’s and even President Obama’s participation in the investigation into General Michael Flynn and the Trump campaign. After all these years, with all the Obama holdovers covering up Crossfire Hurricane or the “Russia probe. His work has given new hope to everyone that would like to see justice done in what the president has named “Obamagate.”

Ratcliffe should carry on in Grenell’s footsteps. As Director of National Intelligence, his new job will require him to learn an immense amount in a short time about the intelligence community or IC and the 16 agencies he will be overseeing for President Trump.

Why this matters

Although Ratcliffe said when questioned in the Senate confirmation hearings, that he did not know what “the deep state” is, he also said that the intelligence agencies he will be overseeing should be “apolitical.” This is important because the Obama administration, Comey, Brennan, and others not only politicized, they weaponized the agencies against their political opponent, Donald Trump.

For too long, people with the intelligence agencies in the US government have been working against the duly elected president of the United States. Officials like James Comey of the FBI, John Brennan of the CIA, and Rod Rosenstein of the FBI did a lot of damage to the intelligence institution, our country, and our national security.

Watchdogs and new directors e.g. Christopher Wray haven’t been bringing those political misdeeds to light in a timely or transparent fashion, and the US continues to be crippled by the unfounded but undebunked attacks against the president and his administration. It is time to drain the swamp before we are permanently sucked down into it.

Godspeed, Mr. Ratcliffe.

Watch Mr. Ratcliffe question Ambassador Gordon Sondlund and get him to admit he “presumed” a quid pro quo during the impeachment inquiry hearings:
